FOR LANDOWNERS

Developing large-scale solar farms is our primary focus at JBM. We understand that it starts with the land, so we put the landowner at the heart of the process. By choosing to lease your land for a solar farm, not only will you help the environment, you will also secure an attractive and reliable income for the next 30-40 years. A solar farm allows you to diversify your farm income, provides more certainty and helps future-proof your farm for the next generation.

Choosing solar does not mean leaving farming behind. We encourage continued grazing of land under the panels for the life of the project. If you own at least 75 acres that you believe is suitable for development and you are curious about the benefits of solar, please get in touch.

Curious about how we work? Below is a short guide to how we get solar farms built.

Delivery of a solar project, large or small, requires strong collaboration between owner and developer due to the long-term nature of these projects. To build our solar farms, we secure long-term leases with our landowners. In return, our landowners receive attractive and stable inflation-linked income for up to 40 years.

Origination

JBM Solar has extensive experience delivering solar projects through the planning system with a success rate in excess of 95% across the UK and Ireland. We work closely with local councils and environmental planning consultants to ensure projects move smoothly from initial feasibility phase through to planning consent.

Planning

Generation capacity on the distribution and transmission grid networks is a scarce resource.  As a result, not every solar project that goes through the planning system will be built. With extensive knowledge and expertise retained within the JBM development team, we are well placed to successfully match prospective project locations with available grid capacity.

Grid

JBM’s in-house technical capability  allows construction-ready system design prior to planning submission, thereby future-proofing our schemes against unnecessary planning amendments at a later date prior to construction.

Design

JBM Solar is a UK solar developer, owned by Susgen and its two founding partners – Brendan O’Brien and David Cramer. Susgen is an owner, capital provider and partner to renewable developers in the UK, US and Europe. Over the last eight years, Susgen has successfully partnered with developers to deliver 33 solar projects, totalling almost 1,000 MW. More information on Susgen can be found at www.susgen.com

Funding

JBM Solar will work closely with funders and reliable construction partners to ensure your solar project is delivered with minimum delay and maximum efficiency. We understand your land is your livelihood and we will work to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum.
